🚩 Sheraton Qingdao West Coast Hotel -- It's considered a five-star hotel, with double rooms at 600+ RMB/night. The hotel is close to the beach (about a ten-minute walk), and the lobby is on the second floor. There's a nice-looking coffee bar next to the reception desk on the second floor. Breakfast is served next to the coffee bar. -- There's a decent variety, but the taste is average. The wontons were pretty good, though. About the room: -- For a 600+ RMB double room, the value is so-so. -- The room isn't big. You can see the ocean, but the view is limited, and the windows aren't very clean. -- The large showerhead is quite nice, but the toilet flush is just okay. The air conditioner is quite loud when it's running, so I had to turn it off to sleep. -- A sewing kit wasn't provided directly, but they sent someone up with one after I called the front desk (surprisingly, there don't seem to be any robot helpers. A staff member brought it up. The front desk did call ahead to let me know they were at the door, which was good from a security standpoint). About the service: -- The front desk wasn't very attentive during check-in. They opened the wrong room and then had to spend time correcting it. -- The room key didn't work, and they had to re-magnetize it. They didn't apologize. They also didn't offer any assistance when I approached the front desk. -- When I arrived, no one offered to take my luggage or bring it up to my room, which is different from other five-star hotels I've stayed at.
