Ulan Hada Volcano Geological Park

Inner Mongolia Ulan Hada volcanic group is located in the central part of Inner Mongolia, on the northern edge of the North China Craton, generally situated in the intersection area of the Daxing'anling-Taihang Mountains gravity gradient zone and the North China Craton-Central Asian orogenic belt. It spans from east longitude 113°01' to 113°32', and from north latitude 41°26' to 41°38', located to the south of the Mongolian Plateau. Administratively, it belongs to Chahar Right Back Banner of Ulanqab City, covering an area of about 280 square kilometers. The Ulan Hada volcanic crater group in Inner Mongolia is the only Holocene volcano with eruptions found on the southern edge of the Mongolian Plateau to date. The eruptions were large in scale and varied in style. The volcanoes are well-preserved, basically unaffected by erosion, and feature volcanic dammed lakes, making it a natural 'volcano museum' with significant value for scientific research and education. The area is rich in volcanic geomorphological landscapes, including different types of volcanic cones, craters, lava terraces, lava flow landscapes, dammed lakes, canyons, and more.
