Myohyangsan Mountain

Myohyangsan Mountain in Autumn Myohyangsan Mountain is the highest and most beautiful mountain in western North Korea, named for its mysterious shape and fragrant air. Clear streams flow through the valleys, with countless waterfalls, fragrant flowers, and fiery red leaves, offering different scenery in each season. The mountain is home to unique peaks and rocks, such as the 1,909-meter-high Piro Peak, as well as various strange rock formations and waterfalls, making it a mysterious place. Sangwon Valley is the most beautiful valley in Myohyangsan Mountain. The valley is gentle and deep, with lush forests, clear water, and a cool breeze, making it an ideal place for hiking. Manpok Valley is named for its 10,000 waterfalls of various sizes, offering a magnificent hiking trail. Piro means "highest peak" in Buddhist scriptures, and the Korean people named the highest peak Piro Peak long ago. Piro Peak Trail leads to the highest peak of Myohyangsan Mountain (1,909 meters above sea level), where the rocky summit and steep slopes offer a panoramic view of the mountain. The area is also a famous scenic spot, with many important historical sites, including the 1,000-year-old Pohyon Temple, well-preserved as symbols of the Korean people's outstanding architectural skills and culture.
