It goes without saying how important Mazu is to the people of Fujian. The hometown of Mazu is Meizhou Island in Putian. This is not only the birthplace of Mazu culture, but also a famous island tourist destination. 🌊 . We came during the Spring Festival and really saw the local people's enthusiasm for Mazu❤️. It is no exaggeration to say that thousands of troops rushed to Meizhou Island. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day, there were many people, and our time was limited, so we left after visiting two key attractions. . . Transportation suggestions 🚌 From downtown Putian to Wenjia Wharf in the morning, it takes about 30 minutes by car and about 50 minutes by bus. Transfer to the ferry⛴️ (about 15 minutes) to arrive at Meizhou Island. The ferry runs every 20 minutes during the day and every hour at night. After arriving on the island, you can rent a car/electric car🛵 or take a sightseeing bus on the island. . ⚠️ Traffic control will occur during holidays. During the Spring Festival, I met many local people who came with their families to worship Mazu. . 👉 Mazu Stone Statue 🗿** - The highest point of the ancestral temple, the 14-meter-high giant Mazu stone statue faces the sea and overlooks all living things.
