India Camel Festival

Every year, in the week before the full moon day of the eighth month of the Indian calendar (October or November in the Gregorian calendar), the world's largest camel fair - Pushkar Camel Mela - begins its week-long hustle and bustle. The Pushkar Camel Mela is known as the most colorful fair, where people dress up in festival costumes and lead tens of thousands of camels and other livestock, all dressed up as well. During this gathering, various fun competitions such as the "Longest Beard Contest" and the "Bride Contest" will also be held. Therefore, the camel festival not only attracts camel traders, participants in various game competitions, locals, and Hindu believers who come from afar to bathe in the Pushkar Lake, but also attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world to come here for sightseeing. Tourists can freely wander around the streets and alleys of Pushkar and experience the exotic charm of this white holy city.
