Chichen Itza, the last glory of the Mayan civilization!

📍The Temple of Kukulcán is located in the Chichen Itza archaeological site in the northern part of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. It is an important cultural site of the late pre-classical period of the Mayan culture in the central highlands. 💡In Mayan culture, "Kukulcán" means "feathered serpent god" and is regarded as the incarnation of the sun god. 🌟The pyramid has many unique features: ● Architectural structure: It is a nine-story circular altar made of earth, about 30 meters high, with a width of more than 55 meters on each side and a circumference of about 250 meters. The highest level has a 6-meter-high square altar temple. The pyramid is surrounded by 91 steps, totaling 364 steps, plus the Temple of the Feathered Serpent at the top, for a total of 365 steps, symbolizing the 365 days of the year. The steps of the nine-story tower are divided into 18 parts, corresponding to the number of months in a Mayan year. ● Ingenious design: At sunset on the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, the side wall of a set of steps on the north side forms seven curved isosceles triangles in the sunlight, which, together with the carved snake head at the bottom, resemble a giant snake moving from the top of the tower to the ground, symbolizing the feathered serpent god awakening at the vernal equinox and crawling out of the temple. This mysterious sight is known as the "serpent of light and shadow." ● Acoustic wonder: Standing in a certain range on the four sides of the pyramid and clapping your hands at the pyramid, you can hear an echo like a bird call that can be heard far away, which is thought to have been used in ancient times to summon tribes in the jungle to gather at the pyramid for events. 📜The Temple of Kukulcán is the pinnacle of Mayan civilization and a brilliant display of the Mayans' knowledge of architectural geometry.
