Giant Victoria Harbour-shaped art installation "The Light of Hong Kong"

To enhance the distinctive features of the promenade, the Development Bureau and the Harbourfront Commission held a "Victoria Harbour"-shaped art installation competition last year. From among the numerous works, they selected "The Light of Hong Kong" designed by young architects Wong Yuk-fai and Lam Hei-man as the highlight art installation in the theme area of ​​East Coast Park. The Light of Hong Kong combines traditional Chinese window lattices and screen art grids as design ideas, and displays the English name of Victoria Harbour, "VICTORIA HARBOUR", in giant hollow fonts, becoming an iconic theme installation on the waterfront. At night, the letters will glow, illuminating the Victoria Harbour waterfront in the Fortress Hill area. It is bound to become a popular check-in spot for tourists day and night. The design team has reserved enough space between the English letters to allow visitors to walk into "The Light of Hong Kong". Citizens can blend into the name of Victoria Harbour on the Victoria Harbour waterfront, and visitors, the harbour and artworks are connected to each other, allowing them to feel the beauty of Victoria Harbour!
