There's a hidden gem of a park in Montenegro.

On the way to Kotor, Montenegro, you'll first encounter this forest, surrounded by emerald green lake water. This is Durmitor National Park. Durmitor National Park, a World Heritage Site in northwestern Montenegro, is renowned for its magnificent glacial landscapes, primeval forests, and rich biodiversity. 📍📍Location: Situated in the Dinaric Alps of northwestern Montenegro, covering an area of 350 square kilometers. It encompasses Durmitor Peak (2,522 meters above sea level, Montenegro's highest peak), the Tara River Canyon (Europe's deepest canyon at 1,300 meters deep), and 18 glacial lakes. 🍓🍓Flora: Home to over 1,500 plant species, including Europe's last primeval black pine forest (with trees up to 400 years old). 🐶🐶Fauna: It's said that rare species such as brown bears, wolves, chamois, and salmon also inhabit this area. 🛥️🛥️First, this is called the Black Lake (Crno Jezero). It is the largest glacial lake in the park, consisting of two connected lakes. During summer, when the water level drops, they separate, and in autumn, they merge into one. The lake water appears dark due to its depth, surrounded by Norway spruce and pine forests. A walking path of approximately 3.5 km encircles the lake, making it a popular spot for hiking and photography. 🌸🌸Unique Phenomenon: The lake water flows into both the Tara River and the Piva River through different tributaries, creating a "bidirectional flow." ⛰️⛰️Bobotov Kuk Montenegro's highest peak. Climbers can choose from multiple routes to reach the summit and enjoy panoramic views of the park. In winter, it's covered in snow, making it suitable for skiing. After parking, walk straight along the forest road for about 20 minutes, and you'll be greeted by a breathtaking sight: the endless expanse of green water is truly refreshing.
