Forest Amusement Park Series PART1️⃣2️⃣

After finishing the trip to Kenting Beach, I went into the forest and walked around the "Kenting Forest Recreation Area". I was instantly surrounded by tropical greenery and completely forgot that I was still in southern Taiwan! As soon as I entered the park, I was attracted by the ancient trees and large plank roots, especially the silver-leaf plank roots. Under the sunlight, the roots were towering and the light and shadow were intertwined, as if I had entered the territory of elves. Walking along the wooden plank to the Fairy Cave and Silver Dragon Cave, walking between the stalagmites and stone walls, there was really a gentle and mysterious underground palace feeling - you have to stop every step to look at the stalactites and light that have been carved for thousands of years. Then climb up to the Guanhai Tower and look down from a height of 27 meters. In front of you are the three sea views of the Bashi Channel, the Pacific Ocean, and the Taiwan Strait, and you can also see Xiaoliuqiu in the distance! The sea breeze is so cool, and the whole of Pingtung is at your feet. At the foot of the mountain is the cliff trail of the First Gorge and Qiyuan Cliff. The scenery is desolate and quiet, and it is super suitable for taking photos of forest adventures. The weather was just right, just in time for the migratory bird season. Monkeys, birds, and butterflies accompanied us along the way, and the ecology was extremely rich. I also heard that red-tailed shrikes and red-bellied eagles often fly over here. Some photography enthusiasts will wait at a fixed point, but this time we took pictures and healed ourselves. When it comes to Kenting, the first impression is often the beach, blue sky, and sunshine, but the real "Southern Wonderland" is actually hidden in the tropical forest Kenting National Forest Recreation Area. This was originally a high-level coral reef botanical science garden built during the Japanese colonial era. It is known as "Taiwan's first tropical botanical garden". The environment is about 200-300 meters above sea level. 76 hectares of 450 hectares have been developed for recreation. It has a unique high-level coral reef terrain and limestone caves, and has more than 1,200 species of tropical plants and rich bird ecology.  Walking through the raised coral reef terrain, entering the forest is like entering another world: dense Lanyu mangroves, buttress root forests, tropical fruit trees, and towering silver-leaf buttress roots, interspersed with ferns and tropical flowers and trees, rich in greenery and full of vitality. 🐦 Ecological/Bird View Highlights • Migratory bird gathering place: Every year from August to the following spring, thousands of red-tailed shrikes, red-bellied eagles, gray-faced vultures and orioles fly over Kenting, which is a must-visit secret place for eagle watching . • Tropical Plant Expo: Plant diversity includes more than 1,200 species of trees and flowers such as white banyan, biting dog, and eggplant, with buttress roots and forest mazes . • Wild animals such as Taiwan macaques: From time to time, you can encounter monkeys playing, but the opportunity is rare, but don't feed them, so that nature can maintain respect and harmony. ✅ Park tour suggestions and practical information 👉🏻Tickets & parking: Adult full ticket is NT$100 on weekdays and NT$150 on holidays; parking fee: NT$50 for cars, NT$20 for motorcycles, and NT$80 for tour buses  . 👉🏻Opening hours: 08:00–17:00, please enter the park before 15:30 at the latest . Route time estimate: 👉🏻It takes about 1.5–2 hours to walk to the Guanhai Tower + Cave combination; 👉🏻If you play the entire park including the first gorge, it will take about 2.5–3 hours, and the whole journey is about 76 hectares. Transportation method: • Self-driving: Take the South Link Highway from Kaohsiung or Taitung and turn to Qiuding Outer Ring Road to get there directly. • Public transportation: You can take the Kaohsiung train and transfer to the passenger bus to get off at the Kenting Forest Recreation Area Station (limited flights, please check the schedule in advance)  📌Recommended equipment: Wear non-slip shoes, bring water, and mosquito repellent; it is recommended to use a flashlight to supplement the light in the cave. 🚗 Classic route recommendation: After entering, go to the Fairy Cave + Silver Dragon Cave in the "South Wing" to explore the underground wonders; then walk to the "North Wing" to the Guanhai Tower, which takes about 1.5 hours. If you want to play in the First Gorge and the Maze Forest and other areas, it is recommended to walk slowly for about 3 hours. In summary, the Kenting National Forest Recreation Area is like a "cool transition" in the Kenting journey. From the scorching sun on the beach to the tropical forest and caves, and watching the sea from the natural landscape, you can also accidentally discover migratory birds and monkeys, which is both healing and fresh! It is highly recommended to arrange a half-day or one-day package. After playing in the forest and returning to the beach, it is the most complete Kenting trip. #5月好去处2025
