Pingtung Checheng Houwan Beach: A Natural Ecological Classroom Full of Hermit Crabs

Attraction: Houwan Beach In the morning, we visited Houwan Beach near the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium. The coastline was covered with a lush green carpet of algae. Low tide makes for better photos, but we happened to arrive during high tide. We told the kids that this is the raw material for seaweed! 🤣 The beach features both sandy and shell-covered areas. As soon as we arrived, we spotted tiny black sea cucumbers, followed by a group of hermit crabs seemingly having a meeting. 😂 While playing with sand on the shore, we even found a toy excavator—what a rewarding trip!
