Watch the sunrise over the sea in Pingtan

Pingtan County, affiliated with Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, and referred to as 'Lan', is the mainland area closest to Taiwan, China. Watching the sunrise over the sea in Pingtan is a must-do activity for tourists. The sky in the east gradually turns from dark grey to light grey as dawn approaches. Closer to the horizon, it becomes whiter, displaying several almost parallel colored stripes of different shades. These colors slowly change, with the stripe closest to the horizon turning from greyish white to pure white, then to pale yellow, followed by golden yellow, and then to pink... The sun rises swiftly from the heavy clouds, initially showing just a hint of red, and then emerging as a big, round, red orb. It's a truly spectacular sight.
