Xia Yu Temple is located in Houbi Village, Yanggao Township, Pingshun County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. Xia Yu Temple was founded in the second year of the Yuan Dynasty (1336) and was renovated in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The building area is 366 square meters... Xia Yu Temple was built to commemorate and worship Dayu. The existing quadrangle layout, the central axis from the south has the mountain gate (upper is the reverse stage), the moon platform, the main hall, and corridors on both sides. The existing main hall faces north and south, with a width of three rooms, a depth of six rafters, and a single eaves hanging mountain top... The moon platform in front of the hall is carved with bluestone, with exquisite carvings and harmonious proportions. Unfortunately, the exquisite round dragons, flowers and other patterns on the waist of the moon platform were damaged during the "Cultural Revolution" when the "Four Olds" were destroyed. The east corner column of the moon platform is engraved with an inscription from the second year of the Yuan Dynasty. Above the mountain gate is the reverse stage, with a width of three rooms, a depth of four rafters, and a hanging mountain top. The upper part is the theater building, and the lower part is the mountain gate passage. There are three stone altars carved during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty in the courtyard.
