Tongtian Gorge Scenic Area

Tongtian Gorge Scenic Area is located at the junction of Shanxi and Henan provinces, at the southern end of the Taihang Mountains, in Pingshun County, southeast of Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. Here, there are towering peaks, majestic and heavy; deep canyons, steep cliffs; springs and streams, clear water and deep pools. According to Xia Yan's description in the Ming Dynasty's 'Hongti Pass Inscription', 'A thousand peaks stand tall, with a gorge in the middle', 'Like a long rainbow, horizontally cutting off the heavenly steps', the scenic area is named Tongtian Gorge, implying a fortress that reaches the sky, the gate of heaven. Whether you drive by yourself or follow a tour group, you can navigate directly to the Tongtian Gorge Scenic Area. It should be noted that the distance from the parking lot to the ticket office is 1 kilometer on foot. Small cars can drive directly to the entrance of the scenic area. Buses, depending on the actual situation, the parking lot of the scenic area is divided into No. 1 and No. 2 parking lots. The Tongtian Gorge Scenic Area is mainly divided into two parts: the eastern part is a water system landscape characterized by valley lakes, waterfalls, and streams, covering an area of 20,000 square meters. Among them, the deepest part of Tongtian Lake reaches 13 meters and is more than 170 meters high. There are natural screens, the first screen of China: Shiping Mountain; like a curtain of dreams, the Water Curtain Cave, the majestic Tongtian Waterfall, the quiet and deep Turtle Lake, etc. Tour order: Shiping Mountain (view from a distance)--Tongtian Lake--Buyun Bridge--Macaque Village--Tongtian Bridge--Water Barrier Dam--Water Play Square--Three-tier Waterfall--Play Water Pool--Tianhe Hukou Waterfall--Water Curtain Cave--Thousand Feet Stream--One Line Sky--Xiaoyao Valley. The whole tour takes about 2 to 3 hours. The first ropeway in Asia, Tianjie Ropeway: 750 meters long, 300 meters high, and a slope of 43.5 degrees; Tianlutai, Xianren Peak: Tianlutai can accommodate 300 people standing at the same time, hexagonal, transparent organic glass steel frame; the highest peak of Tongtian Gorge—Xianren Peak, the viewing platform on Xianren Peak is a rare suspended viewing platform in China.
