Fujian Off-the-Beaten-Path Travel: Longtan Ancient Town · A Picturesque Water Village 🫧

Here's a two-day, one-night travel guide to Pingnan, Ningde! I chose the beautiful and less-crowded Pingnan 🏞 for my weekend getaway. Isolated from the world, nestled among mountains and waters, it's perfect for relaxing after a stressful work period. Transportation 🚗: Self-driving. About 3.5 hours from downtown Quanzhou. There's a parking lot in the village, which is very convenient. Accommodation 🏠: We left right after work and chose to stay in Longtan Ancient Town 🏚 (During low season, rooms in the village cost between 100-200 yuan, prices increase during holidays, so remember to book in advance) We arrived at the village at 11:30 PM, and most guesthouses were already closed. Fortunately, many guesthouses had phone numbers and signs displayed, so we called them one by one. We finally chose "You Jia Guesthouse." The hostess was very nice and offered to cook noodles for us since all restaurants were closed, but we politely declined as it was too late to trouble her. 🥤Food: We had meals at Lanzi Restaurant and Er Ge's place. Both served authentic local farm dishes that were quite good, costing around 35+ yuan per person. Taro noodles: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Nothing special, the red yeast version was okay) Fried pancakes: ⭐️ (Very oily) Handmade green rice balls: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Available at the village committee office, truly handmade with noticeable mugwort fragrance and texture) P7 Chrysanthemum fruit: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Tried at the restaurant, quite special) Suixi Cafe: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Great spot for photos, but the drinks need improvement and prices aren't very affordable) 🚴Travel recommendations: Self-driving is recommended. Pingnan isn't accessible by high-speed rail, only by regular train. The train departs from Fuzhou and passes through Luoyuan, Ningde, Zhouning, and other places. After arriving at the county town by train, you can rent a car or take a taxi to Longtan Village. Also, Longtan Village and Siping Village are close to each other and can be visited together.
