The two screens have wooden parquet patterns, and in the middle hangs a plaque of "Huai Qing Jimei", a loyalty plaque awarded by the Qing government in the fifth year of Tongzhi. The fonts and lace are in relief, and the craftsmanship is exquisite. The gate retains the horizontal dragon sliding door with stone piers on the door feet. The whole house is relatively low and is the most typical Hakka residential style. It has a history of more than 170 years. Li Bingzhang's former residence is on the left side of the Li Family Ancestral Hall and is connected to the ancestral hall gallery. It has been here for more than 160 years. In the late Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, Li Bingzhang asked someone to draw a house plan based on the residence of a wealthy man in Meixian County. He also invited civil craftsmen and painters from Guangdong to build the house. It took three years to build a house with three wok-eared halls and a gate. Hakka enclosed house residence. The construction craftsmanship of this residence is extremely high, unparalleled in Dapeng. The walls of the residence are built with clear blue bricks. The bricks are ground and squared by hand, and the grout joints are as thin and flat as lines. The top of the wall is covered with paintings of landscapes, flowers and birds. There are strip patterns framed around it; the patio corridors are all edged with granite stone tiles, and the door feet and columns are made of geometric stone piers; the screens and eaves are made of wooden strips or wooden panels; the interior carved beams and painted buildings are breathtaking. In 2012, the main building of the old residence was restored to its original appearance. The former residence of brothers Fengxiang and Guanghua is located on the right side of Li Bingwei's former residence. It was built during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. It is an enclosed house with three halls and a gate. This residence has a taller living room, wider sky, and good overall lighting. The second hall has wooden pillars for a screen, and the top of the screen is a mosaic of wooden strips. The doors of the third hall and the main door are horizontal dragon sliding doors, and the door foot thresholds are made of stone bricks. The horizontal doors of the gallery rooms on both sides are mostly arches, which are more beautiful. In addition, there are four horizontal halls and four turrets. The whole house has the style of a small Hakka courtyard and the scale of a large manor. This residence has existed for more than 140 years.
