Wat Doi Mae Pang is

Wat Doi Mae Pang is located at Village No. 5, Mae Pang Subdistrict, Phrao District, Chiang Mai Province. From Chiang Mai city, take the Chiang Mai-Maejo-Phrao Road, Highway No. 1001, or simply start from the Theppanya Hospital intersection to Phrao District. Drive along the road for about 80 kilometers until you reach Mae Pang Village on the right-hand side, next to the main road. You will see a white archway as the entrance. On top is a statue of Luang Pu Waen holding a cane. Turn right and drive straight for about 200 meters until you reach Wat Doi Mae Pang. The temple has a very shady atmosphere. You will see green moss on the walkway and large trees. It covers an area of ​​over 500 rai, which covers the entire area of ​​Doi Mae Pang. Interesting things include Luang Pu Waen's belongings on display. There is a large fish pond where you can feed the fish, a wooden chapel, and Luang Pu Waen's hut, a wooden hut called "Rong Yang Kiles" or "Rong Fai", which is where Luang Pu Waen used to stay when he had an itchy rash all over his body. Therefore, he used this hut to make a fire to burn himself until he recovered, the place where Luang Pu Luan's ashes are enshrined, and the chapel where the life-size statue of Luang Pu Waen is enshrined. When Luang Pu Waen was still alive, there were often many people visiting. Even now, there are still tourists visiting Wat Doi Mae Pang, but not as many as when Luang Pu Waen was not yet dead.
