The residence of the Lord of Phrae

#Let'sTalkAboutTravel The Prince's Mansion in Phrae is considered one of the most haunted mansions in northern Thailand. Built in 1892 by Chao Luang Piriyathepwong, the last ruler of Phrae, it served as a government office, reception area, and even a private residence. At that time, Phrae was a vassal state of Siam. Therefore, in addition to having its own ruler, Phrae also had a governor from Bangkok dispatched to oversee government affairs. As a vassal state, Phrae was required to send tribute to King Chulalongkorn every three years, a legacy that has become the origin of the "Silk Mark" legend. This Prince's Mansion, now a learning museum, was once the residence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit during their visits to Phrae Province. In 1997, it received an award from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for outstanding architecture in the institutional and public buildings categories.
