Wat Phutthaisawan

Wat Phutthaisawan, Ayutthaya Province An ancient temple that is important in the Ayutthaya period. It has a long history. According to legend, King Ramathibodi I (King U Thong) built it in the area where the pavilion was located when he migrated to settle before establishing Ayutthaya as the capital. This place is named in the royal chronicles as "Tambon Wiang Lek or Wiang Lek". When Ayutthaya was established in 1896, he ordered the construction of this temple as a royal memorial in the district where he originally settled. And the next kings must have ordered the construction of many more permanent structures. In addition, when the capital was lost in 1767, Wat Phutthaisawan was another temple that was not destroyed by the Burmese like other temples.
