Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai Province, is located in Mueang Kao Subdistrict, Sukhothai Province. It is an ancient temple that is beautiful and quite complete. It is currently well preserved and maintained. This temple was built during the reign of King Sri Inrat, the first king of Sukhothai. In front of the temple, you can clearly see the principal Buddha image and the principal pagoda of the temple. Next, you will see the chapel enshrining a standing Buddha image, 18 cubits high, named Phra Attharot. The pagodas that you see in a row are in the shape of a rice bundle, which is a unique characteristic of Sukhothai art. #VisitHistoricalSite

Wat Mahathat, or as the locals of Nakhon Si Thammarat call it, Wat Phra That, is an ancient and sacred site that is the center of the hearts of the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat and people from all over the country. It is also considered a symbol of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. It is currently considered one of the most important ancient sites in the South. The Phra Mahathat Chedi is shaped like an inverted bell. The highlight is the top of the chedi, which is covered with pure gold. There are also many valuable items that people have brought as offerings. The ceremony that the locals have practiced for a long time is the procession of cloth up the chedi, which is popular among people who come to pay homage. Around the Phra Mahathat Chedi, there are many smaller chedis. What is even more strange is that it is a Phra Mahathat Chedi that has no shadow, which is a miraculous occurrence. #TeamSouth
