Nice modern zoo

This is a huge zoo, both in size and in the variety of animals on exhibit. The Arizona landscape in the savanna area adds a wonderful element of authenticity and ambience that other zoos don't have. There are lakes, little islands for monkeys to call home without netting, and so much to see. They had exhibits specific to the region, as well as great views of the natural desert from inside the zoo. It really had a feel of being specific to Arizona. The staff were friendly. There was plenty of shade, seating areas, places to get food and drink, and clean bathrooms. This is a great activity to combine with the desert botanical garden. Keep in mind though that there is not a lot of shade and if it's a hot time of the year. It's going to be difficult. Hydration is especially important. #usatrip #familytrip #localguides
