Discover the Phoenix Zoo: A Weekend Adventure with Dinosaurs

Our weekend exploration kicked off at the Phoenix Zoo, and we were thrilled by the current "Dinosaurs in the Desert" exhibit! The lifelike animal models, with their detailed dinosaur skin textures and sound effects, were impressive. However, be warned that children under one might find it a bit scary. The giraffes were adorable, greeting visitors and running around, although the observation deck was closed, so we couldn't get a closer look. As hunger set in and our little one started to nap, we decided to head home early. We missed exploring the eastern part of the zoo, so we're planning a return visit. The zoo is open from 9 AM to 4 PM, with upcoming events like Zoo Lights and Photos with Santa. Tickets are a bit pricey at $39.95 for adults, but children under two get in free. Tip: The temperature difference between morning and evening is significant, so if you're planning an early visit, bring a light jacket and sunscreen. P.S. Years ago, we visited the National Zoo in Washington DC, which is incomparable to the Phoenix Zoo.
