Ban Phachan and local fisherman's way of life along the Mekong River

Pha Chan Village, Ubon Ratchathani Province, is a community along the Mekong River that still maintains its traditional way of life through fishing, which provides a source of income and livelihood. The village also has a unique story of friendship and cultural exchange between the Thai and Lao people on both sides of the Mekong River. Pha Chan Samphanbot Geopark covers an area of 4 districts in Ubon Ratchathani Province, including Pho Sai, Khong Chiam, Si Mueang Mai, and parts of Sirindhorn District, with a total area of 1,700 rai. The Pha Chan Samphanbot Geopark is a unique geological area, with distinctive features such as the rock formations along the Mekong River, which were carved by the river over thousands of years, creating beautiful shapes and patterns. Other notable geological features include large pillars and cliffs.
