Meru Promthat, Phimai District

🛕🛕🛕Located within the walls of Phimai city on the southeast side of Phimai Stone Castle, it is a large pagoda made of bricks, situated on a high mound. The reason it is called Meru Phromthat is probably related to the local legend of “Thao Pajit and Nang Araphim”, which tells of this place being the place where Thao Phromthat was cremated. It is still unknown when it was built, but it is assumed that it was built after the Khmer art at Phimai Stone Castle. cr.TAT #KoratHasGood #Korat #Phimai
