This temple was originally located in front of Wat Nong Krathum School. Later, someone donated land to build a temple (there is no evidence of the name of the donor). Therefore, the temple was moved from the original land to a new location until today. According to the story, there were many Krathum trees at the new temple site and it was next to a swamp. Therefore, the temple was named Wat Nong Krathum.
