The fort is located on height to overlook the city of Peshawar and presently converted as museum besides being looked after by security. The fort is in the middle of Peshawar city and only 30 minutes drive from Peshawar Airport. The fort is surrounded by traditional Qissa Kwani bazar (ancient story teller market) and khyber bazar with lots of shopping options. There are a number of attractions around the fort which are hardly within 30 minutes drive.
