Short Stop at Pakbeng: A Little Peace on the Mekong

#getgoing2025 I didn’t expect much when I made a short stop in Pakbeng on my Mekong River journey, but I ended up really enjoying the place. It’s a small town, mostly used as a pit stop for travelers, but there’s something about its simplicity that I found so charming. The riverside views were gorgeous, and I spent some time chatting with the locals who were super friendly. The pace is slow, and it’s the perfect place to rest and take in the peaceful vibe of rural Laos before hitting the road again. 📍Pakbeng, Laos
