#Japan and Korea Spring Good Places The ancient temple of Dongchan Temple, which has gone through hundreds of years, seems to have concentrated the essence of the entire traditional Japanese architecture, forming a simple and elegant Zen style. As you walk into the temple along the deep forest path, you will see the main hall building with its famous dry-lacquer exterior walls. The mottled and simple dark red wooden exterior, surrounded by tall and verdant ancient pines, fills the entire scene with a unique and neat Zen atmosphere. What I long for most is to wander among the garden corridors of the temple and appreciate the beauty of this long-standing Japanese architecture up close. There is a carefully paved cobblestone path under your feet, with maple branches drooping gracefully on both sides, and in the distance there is a group of dry rock landscapes with jagged textures dotted in between. Occasionally, through the windows on the roadside, you can catch a glimpse of the waterscape of Taizitan in the courtyard. The surface of the lake reflects the silhouettes of the surrounding buildings, and the rippling waves make the whole scenery pleasing to the eye. If you are lucky enough to meet monks in simple attire meditating along the way, you will surely gain a deeper understanding of the Zen charm of this ancient temple. Being able to quietly enjoy the scenery in such an ancient Zen environment is the biggest reason why I make special trips to Dongchan Temple again and again. This unique visual aesthetic and physical and mental experience allowed me to find the perfect combination of tradition and modernity, nature and humanity in just a short moment. It is truly worth the price of the ticket.
