Otaru Music Box Museum and Steam Clock - A historic European-style museum with the world's only steam clock

The Otaru Music Box Hall, established in 1912, is the oldest and largest music box museum in Japan, characterized by its architectural style, which is a well-preserved European-style building that gives visitors a nostalgic and classical atmosphere. It houses 3,600 kinds of music boxes and more than 25,000 pieces, allowing visitors to enjoy music boxes of different styles and music. It is also the largest music box specialty store in Japan. The ancient European steam clock stands at the entrance of the Otaru Music Box Hall and was built in bronze in 1977 by a famous Canadian clock craftsman. It is 5.5 meters high, 1 meter wide and weighs 1.5 tons. The steam clock is computer-controlled to boil the boiler to produce steam, and in addition to the hourly hourly time, it also plays a melody of five scales with steam every 15 minutes, which is quite characteristic.
