A Snowy Wonderland at Oshino Hakkai

Visiting Oshino Hakkai in March, I was surprised to encounter a snowy landscape. This small village in Yamanashi Prefecture resembles a fairy tale world, with eight spring ponds scattered throughout the village. The spring water, formed from the melting snow of Mount Fuji, is exceptionally clear and transparent. In the summer, you can even see the sand and koi fish swimming at the bottom of the ponds. Although it is already March, the light snow covers the thatched roofs and red pine treetops, and the half-person-high snow on both sides of the road creates a serene winter scene. Strolling leisurely on the icy paths, breathing in the cold but fresh air, every step reveals a spot filled with the tranquility and purity of a Japanese rural landscape. Oshino Hakkai is not just a natural attraction but a place where time seems to slow down, making it worth savoring.
