Tennoji Zoo I went to Tennoji Zoo in January. Tennoji Zoo opened in 1915 and is the third oldest zoo in Japan. The 11-hectare park is home to 1,000 animals of 200 different species, and it takes at least an hour to see them all. It takes about 4-5 hours if it's busy or you want to take a good look at the animals. Despite being conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the station, admission is only 500 yen for adults! 200 yen for elementary and junior high school students! Free for preschoolers! Amazingly cheap!! There is a wide variety of animals and the exhibits are easy to understand and intriguing.
