Impressive Lion Head at Namba Yasaka Shrine ⛩️

Just a few minutes walk away from popular shopping area Namba Parks by Namba station, Namba Yasaka Jinja is a small shrine hidden away in the big city of Osaka. It is home to Namba’s guardian deity~ it is believed that the lion has come to eliminate bad luck and drive away evil spirits. Many people come here to wish for good luck and pray for academic improvement. The shrine is free to enter and doesn’t require a ticket. It is only a small area and the many tourists come to see the large lion head, a very popular spot for photos. The famous Lion Hall is 12 metres tall. It is said that the lion’s mouth swallows evil spirits. At night time and during festivals, the lion’s eyes can be seen shining as one of the lights in the temple grounds. A very impressive sight to see! 🌟 #mytravelhacks #japantrip #japan #historicallandmarks #localguides #osaka #osakatrip #japanguide #summerdestinations
