Plitvice Lakes – A Journey Through Waterfalls and Forests

The waterfalls were at their strongest, fed by melting snow, and the lakes shimmered in every shade of turquoise and green. Wooden boardwalks guided me across crystal-clear water, past rushing cascades, and through peaceful forest paths alive with birdsong. I started early in the morning to beat the crowds, choosing Route C which offered a mix of upper and lower lakes. Each turn revealed a new breathtaking view — Veliki slap (the Big Waterfall) was a real highlight, its power echoing through the canyon below. Spring is the perfect season for Plitvice: mild weather, fewer tourists, and nature bursting into life.
