Known as a famous cherry blossom spot

#springwander The birthplace of "Hanagasa Odori", one of the four major festivals in Tohoku. A population lake built as a reservoir for rice paddy reclamation in the Taisho period. It has also been selected as one of the "100 Best Ponds" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. In spring, when about 200 Somei Yoshino trees bloom around the lake, it is also popular as a cherry blossom viewing spot. Various facilities, including campsites, are scattered around Lake Tokura.
