China's Arctic Yellow River Station: More Than Just a Coordinate in a Geography Book

This Arctic trip has me most looking forward to two places: the Global Seed Vault and China's Yellow River Station in the Arctic. When I finally arrived, it was more than just a coordinate in a geography book. 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of China's polar expeditions and the 20th anniversary of the Yellow River Station. I followed the cruise to Ny-Ålesund, a place mainly for scientific research. Although small, it has everything you need. In addition to the research stations set up by various countries, there are also hotels and shops. According to the staff on the ship, the most famous check-in point here is the Chinese Yellow River Station. Every time the staff from other countries see a long line of people taking photos outside the Yellow River Station, they know that tourists have arrived. 😜 There is also the world's northernmost post office. Although it is no longer in operation and the shop now handles the mailing of postcards, this "world's most" still attracts many people to take photos. Postcards and stamps can be purchased in the shop. A friend who had been to Antarctica told me that many people never received the postcards they sent from the southernmost post office. I didn't have high hopes, but more than half a month later, I received the postcard I sent from Ny-Ålesund, and a few days later, my friend also received the postcard I sent him. I was super excited at that moment. Not only did I get the postmark from the world's northernmost post office, but I also got the Yellow River Station commemorative stamp. When I go to the southernmost post office and send another one back, I'll frame them. 👀
