Medieval city of Nuremberg

Nuremberg is a city in the northern part of Bavaria, in the region known as Central Franconia. In the 15th century, it flourished as one of the three major cities of the Holy Roman Empire, and became an impregnable fortified city. Although it was besieged many times during the Thirty Years' War, its ironclad defenses meant that it never fell. However, Nuremberg was the headquarters of the Nazis during World War II, and was bombed and destroyed many times. However, it was rebuilt just as it was before the war, and that is the Nuremberg cityscape we can see today. As soon as you leave the station, you can see the medieval moat and fort, which really gets you in the mood.
