Thung Salaeng Luang National Park

Thung Salaeng Luang, also known as the “Savannah of Thailand”, is the third largest national park in the country, covering an area of ​​approximately 789,000 rai or 1,262.40 square kilometers. Thung Salaeng Luang covers Wang Thong, Nakhon Thai, and Noen Maprang districts in Phitsanulok Province, as well as Khao Kho and Wang Pong districts in Phetchabun Province. It is assumed that the name of the national park was derived from a type of tree found in the forest area, the Salaeng Jai tree, which grows in large numbers.
