The famous Zen Buddhist temple, Ayuwang Temple, is located in Ningbo

Named after the illustrious King Ashoka, Ayuwang Temple was established in the year 282 AD. The ancient pagoda within its grounds houses sacred relics. Presently, the temple complex includes over 600 structures such as main halls, pavilions, and towers, and preserves important cultural artifacts including stone inscriptions, plaques, and scriptures. The Hall of Heavenly Kings at the entrance is always bustling with incense and crowded with devotees and tourists. Ayuwang Temple is also a scenic area with a vast expanse. The temple is nestled against the mountain, surrounded by ancient towering trees, with the relic pagoda standing tall. The thousand-year-old camphor trees provide a canopy of green, bamboo-lined paths offer a quiet retreat, and the pond for releasing life sparkles with clear ripples. In spring, the plum blossoms bloom profusely. Stepping into Ayuwang Temple, one can slow down and purify the soul. Inside the temple, there is a vegetarian dining hall where visitors can enjoy complimentary meals. Ayuwang Temple does not charge an entrance fee. To get there, alight at Baizhuang Station on Ningbo Metro Line 1, and it's a short taxi ride at the starting fare or a quick bus trip on lines 558, 556, and others.
