National Day Kunming-Pu'er-Jingmai Mountain Independent Travel Guide

1️⃣ Itinerary: D1 Nanjing✈️Kunming D2 Kunming-Pu'er, night stroll at Pu'er May Day Night Market. D3 Daytime visit to Nakeli, experience making Pu'er tea cakes, afternoon and evening stroll at Daijia Alley and Simao Old Street D4 Pu'er-Jingmai Mountain D5 Manghong Mangjing D6 Wengji 2️⃣ Transportation High-speed train from Kunming to Pu'er. From Pu'er city to Nakeli, you can take a direct bus from Pu'er High-speed Rail Station. For the return trip, buses and taxis are not expensive, taxis are easy to get around 5-6 PM. Electric carts are very convenient in Pu'er city and Jingmai Mountain. To get from Pu'er to Jingmai Mountain, just book a ride on "Golden Peacock." 3️⃣ Attractions Pu'er: ✅ Nakeli is quite commercialized, but experiencing Pu'er tea cake making is fun. Leisurely strolling and having a coffee is very relaxing. Worth going if you have enough time. ✅ May Day Night Market mainly sells fruits, everything you can imagine. Passion fruit at 0.5 yuan each is awesome, very lively and recommended. ✅ Simao Old Street and Daijia Alley are worth a visit; some coffee bean bracelets are quite pretty. Jingmai Mountain: ✅ Manghong and Mangjing are very close. Wengji is quite commercialized with higher prices. If you don’t go to Nuogan, electric carts are enough. Mainly for strolling, eating, and taking photos. ✅ Picking mushrooms in season is very interesting. ✅ Every village has folk bonfire activities at night, dancing together is so much fun. 4️⃣ Food This trip’s food paradise is definitely Jingmai Mountain! They really know how to use spices. Jingmai Mountain ✅ Mangjing Bulang Restaurant: Oh my, grilled tilapia wrapped in leaves, mint fried ribs, tomato water fern, roasted milk tea—you have to try them, once you do, you won’t say a word. ✅ Manghong Qiuyin Restaurant: Bulang stir-fry! It’s stir-fried pork offal, amazing and fragrant, banana flower with cured meat, eggplant all delicious. ✅ Manghong Donghe BBQ: Two people ate for just 60 yuan, simple original flavor BBQ, very tasty. ✅ Manghong Dai Zhuni Foodie, Wengji Wild Duck Pond Valley Coffee: Both have stunning views from the second floor and good taste. Kunming: "Tongxin BBQ" is really good! Kidney slices and chicken skin are delicious, but the environment is poor and service attitude is bad; "Shangshan Tea" is forever a legend, green mango basil temple and boletus mushrooms are amazing! The freebies are so cute. Pu'er: ✅ Yangji Sour Vinegar Rice Noodles: super fragrant, sour vinegar is very refreshing ✅ Ersao BBQ: sweet-flavored BBQ is okay ✅ Junyuan Wild Mushroom Hotpot: mushrooms are very fresh, potato rice is delicious. ✅ Balada (No.4 Middle School branch): crispy and fragrant ✅ Yijia Pasture: avocado banana and lychee rose dried yogurt are delicious 5️⃣ Accommodation My two favorites this trip: ✅ Pu'er Morin Jinshang: clean, spacious, warm lighting, fully smart home ✅ Jingmai Leyin Mountain Residence: balcony with sea of clouds view is stunning, great value! The host is very enthusiastic! During National Day, Pu'er and Jingmai Mountain are not crowded, great food, fun, comfortable and relaxing. The Jingmai Mountain natives are warm and simple, Bulang ethnic costumes are beautiful, you can rent a set for photos 📷
