Kinutateiwa Osuri Bridge, a hidden gem in Nikko

📍In late September 2015, we had the opportunity to visit Tokyo. We drove to a nearby city, intending to visit the World Heritage Site of Nikko. We booked a hotel on Trip.com, but didn't see where it was. We ended up visiting Kinu Tateiwa Bridge, which was near our hotel by chance. Initially, we weren't expecting much, just wanting to find a place to visit before returning to Tokyo. However, upon arriving, the atmosphere was wonderful. This bridge also holds a legend. 🚩 Kinu Tateiwa Bridge is located in Kinugawa Onsen, Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture. It connects Kinugawa Onsen and Tateiwa. The bridge sits over the Kinugawa River for approximately 140 meters. When people walk across it, it wobbles a little, but it's incredibly sturdy. The Kinugawa River is a great spot for viewing autumn leaves. The view at that time would be even more beautiful. Japanese people often cross the bridge to pray for love. There's a story about a woman waiting for her lover on Tateiwa Rock, which has become a legend of faithfulness. It's believed that this bridge is a bridge of promises. If a couple crosses the bridge together without letting go, their love will be lasting. Or you can pray for the return of your loved one. 🌉Cross the bridge and pray!! ✨✨ 1>> Go through the Tateiwa Tunnel and pray for your soulmate! 2>> Make a wish for love at Tateiwa Kinuhime Shrine. The Japanese say that your chances of success are very high! Next to the shrine is a giant statue and you can collect commemorative stamps. 3>> Ring the wedding bells and pray for marriage, vows of love, and a soulmate or child! 🚇How to get there: 1. From Kinugawa-Onsen Station, it's quite a walk. You'll need to take a taxi. 2. Driving is very convenient. There's a parking lot nearby. Parking was free when we visited. 💰Free admission. If you're passing through Nikko, don't forget to check in at Kinu-Tateiwa Bridge.
