The revered Taiyuin Mausoleum

#summervacay The Taiyuin Mausoleum is where Tokugawa Iemitsu, the third tokugawa shogun is laid to rest. There are several gates guarded by devas or heavenly kings which are intricately designed, carved and painted which really exhibits the skill and detail by the artisans. The temple complex contains various buildings and shrines which has buddhist and shinto influences. You can really experience the serenity in this place. A monument fitting a legend! #taiyuinmausoleum #nikkojapan
