Experience the rich nature and history of Lake Chuzenji

#springwander A park boasting a panoramic view of Lake Chuzenji with calm waves and the beautiful scenery of the green mountains. Lakeside Chuzenji, blessed with cool and rich nature, was built by many villas by foreigners, including embassies of various countries, from the mid-Meiji period to the early Showa period, and it was bustling as an international summer resort. The symbolic building of the park was built in 1896 as a private villa for British diplomat Ernest Sato, who had a great impact on the Meiji Restoration. After that, it was used as a villa for the British Embassy until 2008, and then donated to Tochigi Prefecture.
