It feels as if time has come to a standstill here. After living in the bustling capital of Japan, it's quite astonishing to see how the country defines "inaka," or rural life. In this serene setting, I finally understood the reality behind the notion of Japan's declining population. Aside from the occasional tourists, this area feels like a desolate place, almost untouched by the rush of modern life. Buses run only until 3 PM, and unlike the frequent trains in Tokyo, here we find ourselves waiting 30 to 45 minutes for the next one. The locals share a familial bond, and the natural beauty remains largely unspoiled. Being here evokes a wave of nostalgia, transporting me back to my childhood when life moved at a gentler pace. As we transition into adulthood, we come to appreciate the simple, beautiful essence of a slower life. So, thank you, Tochigi-ken! You've reminded us of the charm found in life's slower moments. Inner child is truly healed ❤️
