I was really attracted to the fact that there are Moai statues in Japan. Isn't it beautiful to see Moai statues standing tall against the backdrop of the blue sky and sea? Sanmesse Nichinan is easily accessible by driving along the coastal road with a view of the Pacific Ocean. It's so interesting that the Moai statues that should be on Ista Island, Chile, are also in Miyazaki, Japan. It's said that they were given as a gift as an expression of gratitude for Japan's help in restoring the Moai statues during the Great Chilean Earthquake. (To be exact, they allowed them to be restored and used.) But what's even more interesting is that if you draw a straight line from where the Moai statues stand, you'll meet the Moai statues on Ista Island! They say that each Moai statue symbolizes luck in career/health/love/everything/marriage/money/study. You can stand in front of each one and pray for luck, but it's always fun to take a picture in front of the center statue and pray for luck! #JapanTravel #Miyazaki
