#taipei #tripblazers Address - Jishan St, Ruifang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan 224 224新北市瑞芳區基山街 Highlights - I booked a day trip to Jiufen from an online travel agency and I was blessed with great weather on the day of visit because we were told by the guide that Jiufen rains 7 out of 10 days. Jiufen was first built by the Japanese as an old gold-mining town, but is known today as a popular day trip destination from Taipei. Tourists come specially for a glimpse of A-MEI Tea House 阿妹茶樓, which resembles the architecture in Japanese animation film, Spirited Away. You can choose to have tea at A-MEI Tea House (expect long queues) or enjoy the famous dessert at A GAN YI TARO BALL 阿柑姨芋圓 with an aerial view of Jiufen.
