No need to fly to South Korea or Japan, you can see incredibly beautiful ginkgo trees in Guangdong, China! 🤩🤩

#November Destinations 2025 As autumn arrives, golden ginkgo trees can be seen in many places. One of the closer and more famous places to view them near Hong Kong is the Maozifeng Scenic Area in Nanxiong, Guangdong Province. It's very convenient; take the high-speed train from Shenzhen to Shaoguan, then a taxi. The whole journey takes about 4 hours. This is the first time I've seen so many ginkgo trees; a vast expanse of golden yellow is truly beautiful. Mid-November to early December is the best time to view the ginkgo trees. We visited yesterday (December 4th), and here's a look at the ginkgo trees at several must-see spots in the area: Xiao Fang Ping: All the trees have turned golden yellow. The dense, shorter ginkgo trees are perfect for taking portraits and checking in on social media. Da Fang Ping: Most of the trees have turned yellow. The ginkgo trees are more sparsely distributed than in Xiao Fang Ping, but there are fewer people, so you can take your time finding the best angles for photos. Golden Avenue: Half of it is still green, not as beautiful as I imagined, but there are many old houses here, which make for charming photos. Around the middle of the avenue, turn right, and you'll find a park-like area where most of the ginkgo trees have turned golden; it's also a beautiful spot for photos. There are still about ten days left, so take advantage of the weekend for a golden ginkgo tour. If you miss it, you'll have to wait another year. Transportation Information: 1. You can take the high-speed rail from West Kowloon, Futian, or Shenzhen North to Shaoguan, then take a taxi to Maozifeng Scenic Area. 2. If you want to visit Danxia Mountain at the same time, it's recommended to hire a car to visit Maozifeng Scenic Area in the morning, and then Danxia Mountain in the afternoon. Danxia Mountain is well worth a visit; if you have time, you can stay overnight and spend another day exploring Danxia Mountain. Tips: 1. The park is very large, and there are no well-maintained pedestrian walkways between scenic areas. You'll often have to walk on roads, so it's highly recommended to buy shuttle bus tickets within the park. 2. It's suggested to visit Xiaofangping first, and then return directly to the exit from Golden Avenue (the terminal). On the day we visited, when we left around 4 PM, many people who wanted to board the bus at Xiaofangping couldn't get on because it was full.
