Wolf Mountain

Nantong Langshan Mountain is located in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. It is the first of the Langwu Mountains (Nantong Five Mountains) and faces the Yangtze River to the west. The earliest document recording the names of Langshan and Langwushan is in the "Zhen Gao Ji Shen Shu" by Tao Hongjing of the Southern Dynasties, which reads "Langwushan is in the sea, opposite the Juzhang shore, and is now directly called Langshan." Juzhang is a nickname for the land of Wu and Yue, referring to the land shore southwest of Langwushan. Later, when the Tang Dynasty monk Jianzhen sailed east, it was also recorded in "The Biography of the Great Monk's Eastern Expedition of the Tang Dynasty": "On June 27th, we set out from Chongfushou and went down to Langshan on the border of Changzhou by boat. The wind was strong and the waves were high, and the mountain was swirling." Nantong Langwu Mountains, including Langshan Mountain, together with Jingjiang Gushan Mountain and Changshu Fushan Mountain, are all part of the remnant of the Tianmu Mountain system in western Zhejiang. Langshan Mountain is 109 meters above sea level and is the most majestic and tallest mountain. Jianshan, Junshan, Ma'anshan and Huangnishan are like stars surrounding the moon, and Langshan is the leader of the five mountains. Langshan is also the first of the eight famous Buddhist mountains in China and is known as the "First Mountain in the Rivers and Seas".
