Nanning Xinwei Marriott - Old but Strong

Rating: 7.5/10 1 Overview: Traveled to Nanning during the National Day holiday and chose the newer Renaissance Hotel first, but stayed at the Marriott for one night. The hotel's location is good and transportation is convenient. The hotel has a 27-story transparent ceiling design, which looks very cool from top to bottom. Since it has been open for more than ten years, I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by some unexpected little surprises. 2 Rooms: 6/10 Before coming, I heard that some reviews mentioned a musty smell in the rooms due to the age of the hotel, which made me a bit apprehensive. Fortunately, with my Titanium card, I was upgraded to a newly renovated executive room. The welcome fruit was three apples. The room's carpet is mainly blue, quite spacious with good lighting, and the landmark of Nanning, the International Convention and Exhibition Center, is not far outside the window. The decorations for the China-ASEAN Expo were still up, and the night view was beautiful. The bathroom is small, the bathtub is very small, making it difficult to move around, and I even slipped. Another downside is that the air conditioning system might be old, as I woke up to the sound of the air blowing loudly. Overall, it just passes. 3 Dining: 8.5/10 This time I experienced the Happy Hour (HH) and breakfast. Even though I had already had dinner, I saw a lot of tempting food in the executive lounge and ended up eating more than I intended. I have to say, the HH here is quite substantial, with roast chicken, seafood cold dishes, and rice noodles receiving good reviews. One thing I particularly liked was that there was cold milk in the fridge for self-service, saving the trouble of asking for it each time. The breakfast is also quite good for a Marriott, with the Guilin rice noodles leaving a strong impression, and the rest being about average. 4 Facilities: 7/10 The gym has everything you need, and the step machine even has a small fan, which is better than nothing. The strength equipment has Chinese instructions, making it friendly for beginners. The pool was not in use when I went, medium-sized, quite old, but the water looked relatively clean. Nice Points One small detail is that no matter which floor you are on, pressing the elevator button will immediately 'ding' to tell you which elevator to wait for, which is very convenient. Downstairs is the Hangyang City Mall directly connected to the hotel. Dining is very convenient, with many Guangxi specialty restaurants. It is also connected to the subway. It is close to MixC, and I ordered a delivery from Grandma's Handmade, which arrived in twenty minutes. If you value transportation and dining, this might be a good choice for Nanning Xinwei Marriott Hotel.
