Nanning | Shangri-La Hotel Above the Clouds I recently visited Nanning to see friends and took the opportunity to check out the long-planned Shangri-La Hotel in Nanning. The hotel is adjacent to the MixC Nanning and is located in the high zone of the 403-meter-tall Guangxi CRLand Tower, making it the tallest Shangri-La hotel to date. I heard that the hotel was originally planned to be branded as a Grand Hyatt, so the overall design style hardly shows the typical Shangri-La approach. Instead, it's full of Hyatt-style hotel design language, which is exactly why I wanted to visit. The Deluxe Horizon Club King Room I stayed in is arguably the hotel's most popular and quintessential room type. Situated at the corner of the floor, not only is the room spacious, but the huge floor-to-ceiling windows also offer a better view of the cityscape. Personally, if the hotel could have opened under the Grand Hyatt name, the overall experience (including dining and service) might have been more stylish. However, regardless, Shangri-La remains one of the top choices for accommodation in Nanning.
