Nanjing Day Trip: Dos and Don’ts!!!

I highly recommend Nanjing if you’re feeling ambitious and wanna just get away for a day! Dos: 1. Take an early train in the morning because you will def need more time than you think 😂 2. Buy attraction tickets in advance on ctrip to avoid waiting in line (check if they support your ID type as some places need to verify your identification) 3. Activate your Nanjing metro card on Alipay ahead of time 4. Book a personalized tour at the presidential palace, it’s much more in-depth and detailed, you learn way more that way. The tour is worth it if you split the cost (100RMB up to 5 ppl) 5. Try the duck blood vermicelli noodle soup! (鴨血粉絲湯) Don’ts: 1. Don’t book a return train ticket until you know when you will leave if there’s many options for your city 2. Don’t take too long waiting for restaurants (there’s plenty of places to try!) 3. Don’t arrive at the Confucius temple too late. Their most popular attraction at night is the boat tour. Wait time was around 30+ mins when we arrived at 8:30pm 4. Don’t just visit Nanjing once! 😂 Getting There - 1.5 hour train from SH to Nanjing South Station Attractions - Grand Baoen Temple, Presidential Palace, Min Xiao Mausoleum and Confucius Temple Food & Restaurants - 雁归楼,问柳(老门东) #urbanexplorer#tripfoodie

The East Garden. 🌺🌿 It is also known as Restored Garden. After the troops of Qing dynasty captured the palace, it was totally destroyed. Later in 2003 the garden was rebuilt according to the historical information. 🌱🌺🎍 A beautiful garden with all green and such beautiful architecture with all the essence of the royalty. A must visit place inside presidential palace. 🌹 #garden #architecture #nanjingtravel #summervacation#hikingtrails#urbanexplorer

The main Hall. The main Hall is the first Hall of the palace, which is near to the entrance. It was the most luxurious ✨ Hall during the period of Taiping Heavenly kingdom. From the main Hall a corridor connects to the second Hall. 🎍 Daxinggong is the nearest metro station around 200m. 🚇 #summervacation#hikingtrails#urbanexplorer
