Nanjing Westin (2/100 high-end hotels).

The Nanjing Westin is just across the street from the famous Xuanwu Lake, behind Jinmao Place. The first floor of the hotel is in poor condition. The lobby is not on the first floor. There are four elevators, which is not many, and they are relatively slow. However, the lobby is a different story. The decor and layout are nice, and the staff are quite professional, but check-in is not very fast. The rooms worth staying in are the lake view rooms, which offer direct views of Xuanwu Lake. However, I was not upgraded to a lake view room, only to a regular executive room. The welcome ice cream was nice. The hotel opened in 2011, and its hardware is no longer comparable to newly opened hotels. However, the Westin Heavenly Bed has become very popular in China in recent years. I like soft beds, so I was very satisfied. The bathroom is relatively open and leads directly to the bedroom. I thought I wouldn't be able to see the lake, but thanks to the corner of the window, I could still see it. However, I couldn't lie on the sofa and enjoy the view. I could only see the tall Jinmao Plaza across the street, and the view was not good. Breakfast was nothing special, and the taste was average. It was a mix of Chinese and Western food, and I just had a few bites. Overall, the service here is quite good, but perhaps due to the recent pandemic, many services have been canceled, such as the executive lounge. The decor is quite old, so the hardware and design are a bit outdated, making the hotel feel like it has lost the charm of a high-end hotel. Fortunately, the Westin Heavenly Bed is still a main selling point and offers a good night's sleep. I don't highly recommend this hotel. The Ritz-Carlton in Nanjing has recently opened, so you can upgrade and try that one.
